About Cheryl Lockett Zubak
Cheryl Lockett Zubak (Cheri) is the senior consultant on Work Write, Inc. learning and user assistance projects, and she teaches all Work Write, Inc. classes. An accomplished, popular speaker on online writing and information design, Cheri is equally as comfortable in onsite and web-based classrooms and consulting situations, where she excels in bringing practical knowledge about user assistance development and instructional design to her customers.
Cheri has many years of experience as a user assistance developer: online help, user documentation, web content, and learning products. She is skilled in developing plain language technical information that is accurate and understandable. Cheri is known for approachable style and passion for her work. She brings in-depth knowledge of research in the many areas that contribute to user assistance development, and has a pragmatic spin for bridging research and practice.
In 1999, Cheri was voted by her peers as “Best Speaker or Instructor” and “All Time, All Around Help Guru” at the WinWriters (now WritersUA) Help Authors Choice Awards. Because of her in-depth knowledge of user assistance development, Microsoft named Cheri as one of the four charter members, internationally, of the MVP (Most Valuable Professional) program for Windows help, the Microsoft development environment for creating product online help and reference information for the Microsoft Windows operating system. She is also an Associate Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication, the world’s leading organization devoted to the arts and science of communicating technical information.
Cheri holds Master’s degrees in English/Professional Writing from Arcadia University and Library/Information Science from Drexel University. Her undergraduate degree is in English and Secondary Education (Arcadia University).
